I first met Lucia Walker in 1994. I enjoyed her Alexander technique informed movement explorations immensely and since then I’ve been keen for the opportunity to work with her again.

It has been a long time coming, but finally the chance has arrived to host Lucia here in Sydney for a series of workshops as part of the Sydney Alexander Technique weekend programme of workshops and classes.

Lucia is a highly experienced dancer, movement teacher and Alexander technique teacher based in the U.K. Lucia’s parents Dick and Elisabeth Walker trained with FM Alexander in the 1930’s and 40’s and Lucia qualified from their training in 1987. You might say she was ‘born to move well’.

Lucia is known around the world for her dynamic explorations of awareness and presence in the context of daily activities, rehabilitation and joy in freedom of expression through movement.

Sydney Alexander Technique is now accepting participant bookings for her workshops here on November 19th and 20th 2011.

About the Workshops

Lucia’s workshops revolve around exploring our individual capacity for movement, using such themes as physical contact without resistance, finding sources of support and uncovering a unified awareness of ourselves in activity.

The workshops are active and fun, and suitable for people with any level of movement and Alexander technique experience including beginners and those with physical discomfort. You will be able to participate at a level that is appropriate for you.

Workshop dates are Saturday 19th, Sunday November 20th at Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre in Sydney. Cost for Saturday & Sunday is $475.00.
